I did this meme for the first time last year.  It's supposed to be an annual thing so here I go again.

1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
I went to the Magic Castle.  Maybe not the most exciting thing ever but I had a good time.  Oh- and I played the lotto.  I didn't win.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Again, I've forgotten if I made a resolution.  If I did, it's a safe bet that I probably didn't keep it.  I won't be making any this year.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope.  This year has been barren.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
A couple of people that I used to be close to have passed away this year.

5. What countries did you visit?
Just this one.

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
An awesome job.

7. What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
There are a few dates I'll remember, most of them having to do with my relationships.  And my birthday rocked.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting myself back on my feet again, with a decent job and an apartment.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not focusing enough on what I needed to do.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Just a cold here and there.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
I got some great outfits this year.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My roommate's, for putting up with me this long.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Meh.  Mostly my own.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Clothes and rent.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Getting an apartment.

16. What song will always remind you of 2007?

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
I'd still like to have traveled more.  Maybe next year.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
I should have stuck to my guns a little more than I have been.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
With my family - my brothers, cousins, uncles, aunts, and other assorted relatives will all be there and I think it's going to be so comforting to be surrounded by my lunatic family.  The only ones missing will be my grandparents, I think.

21. Did you fall in love in 2008?
Yep

22. How many one-night stands?
None

23. What was your favourite TV program?
Pushing Daisies (I'm going to miss you...)

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Nope, not a soul.

25. What was the best book you read?
I really enjoyed Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke

26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Coeur de Pirate.  Love love love her.

27. What did you want and get?
A sense of stability

28. What did you want and not get?
A squillion dollars.

29. What was your favourite film of this year?
Synedoche, New York, and Slumdog Millionaire were awesome.  I also really liked Iron Man, Wall-E, and The Dark Knight.

30. What did you do on your birthday?
I met a bunch of friends at The Good Luck Bar.  It was a lot of fun.

31.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
I dunno.  It wasn't a bad year, really.  Maybe finding a better job earlier in the year would have been good.

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
Feminine, retro and quirky

33. What kept you sane?
My friends

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Simon Pegg and Clive Owen gave me much fancy.  And the always delicious Gregory Peck.

35. What political issue stirred you the most?
It was all about the presidential election this year.

36. Who did you miss?
Same as last year - my brother and my grandparents.

37. Who was the best new person you met?
The Musician

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008:
I can't be afraid to stand up for myself, even if it means losing the things I want.
